Dr. Hyland joined the Allegheny General Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology in 2007. Dr. Hyland previously served as a radiation oncologist with Triangle Radiation Oncology and at UPMC Cancer Centers in Pittsburgh. He received his B.S. in biology from the University of Notre Dame, a B.A. in chemistry from Youngstown State University, and completed additional study in genetics and neurobiology from Ohio State University and Kent State University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Hyland is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of several professional societies including the Allegheny County Medical Society, American Medical Association, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
